General Laborer Role and Responsibilities
The General Laborer plays a crucial role in performing a wide range of tasks to support various operations, which may include loading trucks, packaging fabrications, assembling components, material organization, and aiding in the paint shop. Responsibilities encompass, but are not limited to:
- Ensuring Machine and Tool Safety:
- Proficiently understand the safety features of machinery and tooling to ensure their safe operation without compromising safety systems.
- Adhering to Safety Protocols:
- Strictly follow safety protocols, which includes wearing heat-resistant gloves, flame-resistant (FR) clothing, protective masks, and safety-toed footwear.
- Property and Asset Protection:
- Respect and safeguard the assets of both Swanton Welding and third parties, such as tools, vehicles, facilities, equipment, and business activities.
- Equipment Operation and Production Assistance:
- Operate various equipment and provide assistance in production as required.
- Fabrication Assembly and Packaging:
- Assemble and package fabrications as per instructions.
- Forklift Operation:
- Skillfully operate a forklift to load steel trucks and assist in loading skids and small fabrications onto box trucks.
- Material Handling:
- Collaborate with the team to safely lift, stack, and band fabrications for warehousing purposes.
- Equipment and Workspace Maintenance:
- Maintain, organize, and keep equipment and work areas clean, ensuring a safe and efficient work environment.
- Support in the Paint Shop:
- Offer assistance in the paint shop as needed.
- Professional Conduct:
