Welder Role and Responsibilities

In the role of a General Laborer, you will be responsible for a diverse range of tasks, including loading trucks, packaging fabrications, assembling components, material organization, and aiding the paint shop. Your key responsibilities encompass, but are not limited to:

  • Ensuring Machine and Tool Safety:
  • Proficiently grasp the safety features of machinery and tooling to guarantee their secure operation without compromising safety systems.
  • Adhering to Safety Protocols:
  • Strictly adhere to safety protocols, including wearing heat-resistant gloves, flame-resistant (FR) clothing, protective masks, and safety-toed footwear.
  • Property and Asset Protection:
  • Show respect and safeguard the assets of Swanton Welding and third parties, including tools, vehicles, facilities, equipment, and business activities.
  • Equipment Operation and Production Support:
  • Efficiently operate equipment and provide assistance in production as necessary.
  • Fabrication Assembly and Packaging:
  • Execute the assembly and packaging of fabrications in accordance with guidelines.
  • Skilled Forklift Operation:
  • Proficiently operate a forklift to load steel trucks and aid in loading skids and small fabrications onto box trucks.
  • Material Handling:
  • Collaborate with the team to safely lift, stack, and band fabrications for warehousing purposes.
  • Equipment and Workspace Maintenance:
  • Maintain, organize, and keep equipment and work areas clean to ensure a safe and efficient work environment.
  • Support for the Paint Shop:
  • Offer assistance in the paint shop as required.
  • Professional Conduct:
  • Conduct yourself in a manner that consistently upholds a positive image of Swanton Welding and aligns with the company's code of conduct.
  • Additional Responsibilities:
  • Undertake any other duties assigned by your Supervisor.
