Welder Role and Responsibilities
In the role of a General Laborer, you will be responsible for a diverse range of tasks, including loading trucks, packaging fabrications, assembling components, material organization, and aiding the paint shop. Your key responsibilities encompass, but are not limited to:
- Ensuring Machine and Tool Safety:
- Proficiently grasp the safety features of machinery and tooling to guarantee their secure operation without compromising safety systems.
- Adhering to Safety Protocols:
- Strictly adhere to safety protocols, including wearing heat-resistant gloves, flame-resistant (FR) clothing, protective masks, and safety-toed footwear.
- Property and Asset Protection:
- Show respect and safeguard the assets of Swanton Welding and third parties, including tools, vehicles, facilities, equipment, and business activities.
- Equipment Operation and Production Support:
- Efficiently operate equipment and provide assistance in production as necessary.
- Fabrication Assembly and Packaging:
- Execute the assembly and packaging of fabrications in accordance with guidelines.
- Skilled Forklift Operation:
- Proficiently operate a forklift to load steel trucks and aid in loading skids and small fabrications onto box trucks.
- Material Handling:
- Collaborate with the team to safely lift, stack, and band fabrications for warehousing purposes.
- Equipment and Workspace Maintenance:
- Maintain, organize, and keep equipment and work areas clean to ensure a safe and efficient work environment.
- Support for the Paint Shop:
- Offer assistance in the paint shop as required.
